"Ιερή Λογοκρισία" στο Νέο Μουσείο της Ακρόπολης

Ψηφιακή ταινία του Κώστα Γαβρά που προβάλλεται στο νέο μουσείο της Ακρόπολης και εξιστορεί τις διάφορες φάσεις που πέρασε ο Παρθενώνας ανά τους αιώνες, υπέστη "λογοκρισία" σε μία της σκηνή κατόπιν διαμαρτυριών ορισμένων ιεραρχών.
Ο λόγος είναι η απεικόνιση κληρικών των πρώτων χριστιανικών χρόνων να καταστρέφουν γλυπτά του Παρθενώνα προκειμένου να τον μετατρέψουν σε εκκλησία (όπως και τελικά έγινε). Μπορεί να μην φαντάζει ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό ως γεγονός, αλλά το συγκεκριμένο συμβάν έχει μια βαθύτατη συμβολική σημασία. Φανερώνει μια κοινωνία που δεν είναι έτοιμη- λόγω των συμπλεγμάτων και αστικών της μύθων- σε καμία περίπτωση να "βιώσει" με ειλικρίνεια και θάρρος τις αληθινές πτυχές της ιστορίας της (τα χριστιανικά Βυζαντινά χρόνια, που εξυμνούνται στα σχολικά βιβλία αποτελούν ουσιαστικά το μεσαίωνα της ευρωπαϊκής ανατολής, ειδικά ως προς το σεβασμό έναντι του αρχαίου ελληνικού πολιτισμού) προκειμένου να προβεί και σε μια όσο το δυνατόν πιο αντικειμενική εκτίμηση του εαυτού της.
Μια εκτίμηση του εαυτού της που αν γινόταν με αντικειμενικότητα και ειλικρινή αυτοκριτική θα μπορούσε να αποτελέσει "πυξίδα" συμπεριφοράς για το μέλλον.

Greece: Costa-Gavras protests against the censorship of one of his animations

ATHENS, July 25 2009 (AFP) - The Greek-French filmmaker Costa-Gavras Saturday protested against the withdrawal of an extract of a small animation that he produced and which broadcasts in the new Acropolis Museum, showing the early Christians damaging the Parthenon metopes. Officials from the Ministry of Culture and the new museum had decided to withdraw 1mn30 film 13 minutes in response to complaints of "some people bothered by the scene," said the newspaper Eleftherotypia.
