«...I have been informed that ''kalami.us'' even though is related to Greece and Greeks, is accepting any information, good or bad, about Greek organizations and researches on it, and this is the reason I am writing to you. I have been trying for some months already to reach out to GNTO North America (Greek National Tourist Organization) to discuss advertising opportunities with its Deputy Director, Mrs. Kritharioti but was unable to do so. Specifically during the summer she was never available and in August there were days that nobody even answered the phone. I even thought that the office was quasi-operational. To my great surprise, I was recently informed from friends working for other US media, that their cooperation with the Greek tourism board was moving forward, but the outlet I am representing was denied any advertisement by the GNTO office, due to limited budget (or so they told me). Following the above, I got in touch with some Greek friends and they were kind enough to enlighten me. There is a decision that approves all the advertising programs of this office for 2019, available online, which I was also shown. The decision includes approved marketing programs with US but also with Greek media based in the US, including a newspaper that belongs to a Greek deputy minister(!), called Diamataris. What is more, my Greek friends mentioned that Mrs. Kritarioti’s spouse is a contributor to the ''National Herald'', without even being a journalist. Is any of this true? Does the newspaper gets money to employ such person? How is it possible a minister that is getting paid from the Greek government to also receive money for its business? Isn’t it illegal? What is the purpose of advertising with the Greek media and not the US? Does Greece need to be advertised to Greeks?...».
